Our Sixth Annual Jammie Drive Is Nearing Drop Off Day

We are excited to announce that our Jammie Drive has been fast and furious and adoptions and donations have been successful. All families requesting jammies and slippers are adopted. But, there’s still an opportunity to donate to gift cards, money, and underwear.

Now in our sixth year, this family-friendly holiday drive helps clothe the women and children residents of Alameda’s Midway Shelter, their safe house, and the San Leandro Shelter with new, cozy jammies, socks, and underthings to open on Christmas Day.

This year’s party culminating the drive will be held on Monday, December 10th, 2018 in the early evening. Donors will receive a separate invitation with all the details for the drop off party.

This project humbles me every year. These gifts mean so much to families in need right in our community and the event gives us a chance to be with our neighbors, family, and friends in fellowship. I am moved to see so many people eager to help out with adoptions, and in pulling together the party. And, with six years under our belt, I can firmly call it a TRADITION! I am excited to see familiar faces every single year, as well as new faces. Last year, we were able to adopt more than 200 people, as well as raise an additional $1,400 for use by the Building Futures for Women and Children team to support shelter residents.

Organizing a personalized giving campaign requires managing some logistics. But, we’ve worked hard to keep things simple for our generous givers. For FAQs about this event, check this page.

We have some exciting things in store for the party this year, and I do hope you can join us!

So, if you’ve adopted and/or donated, please accept my humble gratitude on behalf of me, my staff, my volunteers and all the folks at BFWC!

May you have the happiest of holiday times!
